WEEKLY UPDATE 12/30/2007

CHRISTMAS 2007!!

• Christmas 2007 will go down as the greatest in Lambert Family History (so far). On Christmas Eve we borrowed Gramma Glo's rotisserie cooker and we prepared a Brazilian Feast including Carne Assada, Feijoada (Beans), and Arroz (rice). We also made Pao de Quiejo (cheese bread) and we washed it all down with cool, refreshing Guarana. The kids were loving their beans and rice. We were very surprised. We even served the meat to the kids the Brazilian stake house way by slicing the pieces of meat right off the spit of the grill. They had a lot of fun.
• Christmas morning the kids woke up to a fresh blanket of snow and lots of presents under the tree. Follow this link for pictures.
• Madison got a little stuffed animal puppy that comes with it's own carrying purse and some fun "Littlest Pet Shop's".
• Lanie scored some new digs for her famous Cabbage Patch Doll "Chubby" which include a Graco car seat, high chair and swing.
• Josh got a Triceratops dinosaur that walks and growls and a castle with hidden trap doors and booby traps.
• Dane's Christmas was small and consisted mostly of clothes he will grow out of in the next couple of days. He's our little "Chubby" boy.

Our family had a great Christmas and we were blessed with many fun gifts. We will always be grateful of the greatest gift to all mankind of who's birth we celebrate. The Lambert Family knows of the divinity of our Savior. We love Him. We bear testimony of his Sacrifice and know there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved.

Sledding Video

Too much FUN!

• Madison had another great week. Christmas Fever was running rampant at school and Madison was the most contageous. She had a way fun Christmas party at school with all of her friends. She also forgot to come home from the bus this week and went straight the neighbors with Austin Cook. As you can imagine Missy was very nervous that Madison didn't get off the bus at her stop. She got in a lot of trouble. We had the Tanner Family Christmas Party yesterday and went sledding down Papa's driveway. Papa had plowed his driveway just enough to leave a slick track of snow perfect for sledding.
• Lanie also had a fun school Chritmas Party. Earlier they in the month all her classmates brought candy to put in a pinata and this week they got to bash it open. She still hasn't stopped talkng about it. Lanie loved putting together her very own Nativity set at nanny's house.
• Josh has been doing great at going on the potty. He still has an occasional accident but he's doing great. He has a hard time putting his pants back on after going so you can find him more often then not in the buff!
• Dane has been getting huge. He's such a happy boy and has a great smile. He has been doing a little better at sleeping through the night but is still a real night owl. Once the other kids are in bed he likes to stay up with Mom & Dad.

WEEKLY UPDATE 12/9/2007

LET IT SNOW!

The Lambert Family had another great week this week.

• Madison just keeps getting the great scores on her spelling tests. She had another 130%ter this week. The highlight is that she can spell the word "Instrument". We had our Destinations, Inc. Christmas Party on Friday night and since Dane is so new and Missy didn't feel so great Madison & I got to go out for a Daddy-Daughter Date! Madison ate a HUGE piece of Salmon and then really enjoyed the John Schmidt Christmas Concert at Kingsbury Hall.
• Lanie also got to have a Daddy-Daughter Date this week when we went out to Costa Vida for a Quesadilla and a Pina Colada Drink. We also went to Pet Smart to check out all the Fish, Lizards, Rats, Mice, Gerbils, Hamsters, Parakeets, Parrots & Cockatiels. After that we went to a Christmas concert at the South Town Expo Center with Uncle Rick's family.
• Josh has just loved the snow that has been falling this week. Even though his Mom bundles him up so tight that he can barely move he still manages to get around pretty good. We have to watch him really close because he still hasn't learned that if the snow is a different color than white you shouldn't eat it. Josh also decided this week that he didn't need diapers anymore. It's kind of like a switch was flipped in his head and he is now potty trained. He still has a few accidents but has been doing great!
• Dane is doing awesome...still growing and becoming more aware and awake every day. He also has the loadest burps you've ever heard. They are almost as loud as Missy's....wait a minute...maybe they are Missy's? I'll get back to you on that.

WEEKLY UPDATE 12/02/2007

ARIZONA TRIP THANKSGIVING 2007

We didn't have a chance to write last week because of our roadtrip with the Chris Lambert Family. Missy and Dane stayed home while Me, Madison, Lanie & Josh made a long trip all the way down to Phoenix. On the way down we stopped in one of the kid's favorite places....Kanab, Utah!!! We also saw the incredible GRAND CANYON!!!

While we were gone Dane decided grow up some more. We can't believe that he'll be a month old this week.

We also got a ton of snow and built a snow fort in the front yard. The kids had a blast!

WEEKLY UPDATE 11/18/2007

10 DAYS OLD!!

• Baby Dane has been doing awesome! He has perfected the art of Sleeping, Eating and Pooping. Sometimes accomplishing all three simultaneously. He really is a great baby. Very content and only cries a little to let you know that he's hungry. He has brought such a sweet spirit into our home. Madison, Lanie & Josh have all bee so sweet with him. We feel now that he was a missing piece of the Lambert Family Puzzle. We cant imagine our little family without him.
• Madison had another great week at school. She scored 130% on her spelling test and has been doing great at reading. She has loved reading "Chapter Books". She has been doing a great job at helping around the house and has been enjoying helping with baby Dane.
• Lanie has been saying a lot of fun things this week. The funniest have bee changing words like "stupid" to "Stu-kid". She said "Mom...I want one of those "Heart Attacks". We realized that these Heart Attacks she wanted were really Tic-Tac Mints. We are glad that she wanted a Tic-Tac and not a Heart Attack
• Josh is still our crazy little wild man. He has been having a hard time calling Dane by the right name. He keeps calling him Ammon after his cousin. We think he is having a hard realizing that Dane is his little brother. He has been super cute with Dane.

WEEKLY UPDATE 11/11/2007

This week will definitely go down as one of the best weeks in Lambert Family History. We welcomed the newest member of our family this week. Charles Dane Lambert!!

Dane arrived on one of the warmest November days on record. Here is a quick timeline on how it all went down:

• Nov. 7, 2007 11:30 AM: Missy had her last appointment with her OB/GYN, Dr. Lisa Gravelle.
• 5:00 PM: The contractions started and were about 15 minutes apart.
• 6:30 PM: We were out to dinner as a family at The District Theatres when the contractions went from 15 minutes apart to 6 minutes apart. We had to hurry home to get the kids ready for bed.
• 9:30 PM: The contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and we left for the hospital. Gramma Glo came to stay at the house during the night.
• 10:00 PM: We were settled in to the hospital room and were waiting the blessed epidural.
• 11:00 PM: Missy received the epidural.
• Nov. 8, 2007 3:00 AM: Missy's doctor arrived and waited for Missy to go from a 6 to a 10.
• 4:15 AM: Missy was ready and the nurses got all the equipment ready.
• 4:24 AM: After only two pushes Dane almost ran out of the womb.

It really was an exciting experience.

As for the other kids they were about as excited as possible.

• Madison upon seeing her mom in the throws of a full on contraction wanted to make sure that we knew that she needed to be taken to the hospital. "Dad...you're taking Mom the the hospital right?" and "Mom...do we need to call 9-1-1?" She was also baffled that we named him Charles Dane Lambert. "Dad...if you are going to call him Dane, why is his first name Charles?" Great question.
• Lanie was as excited to meet her new little brother as she was in getting the new car seat out of it's box. As you can see in the picture above she has been very sweet and loving with her new little bro. When Grampa came over to the house the day that Dane was born she yelled at the top of her lungs "GRAMPA...THEY GOT THE BABY OUT!!!"
• Josh had a few reservations about meeting Dane. It's hard to give up your coveted spot in the Baby Club to a complete stranger. He didn't want to go near Dane for the first day or so. Upon finding that his new little brother was completely harmless he has wanted to hold and kiss him. He loves to look at Dane's tiny little hands. Today Josh got out his soccer ball and made Missy sit Dane up so that Josh could demonstrate to Dane on how to best kick a soccer ball. It was pretty cute!

WEEKLY UPDATE 11/4/07

HALLOWEEN 2007

What an awesome week! The kids had a blast with Halloween and scored some great candy!

• Madison had a great time getting her costume ready for Halloween. She had a hard time deciding what she wanted to be. At first she wanted to be Princess Leia from Star Wars. She finally decided to be a witch. Her most favorite part of her costume was her black tights with orange pumpkins on them. She loved the makeup job Missy did on her too. Dark, dark eye shadow with bright red lipstick. She also taught herself how to spell the word Halloween. Smarty pants!
• Lanie had UEA week and only went to school on Friday. She was the special leader which means she got to bring the treat bucket and she got to lead the class in the Pledge of Allegiance. We've been trying to get this recorded but she gets pretty shy when the camera is on her. She dressed up as Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. As we went trick-or-treating she always remembered to say thank you after she was given a treat. Her treat bucket has since been hidden and we are at a loss as to where it is. Every so often she comes out of nowhere with a sucker or a candy. It's driving us crazy!!
• Josh is still pretending to be every vicious animal you can think of. He likes to growl and thrash like a lion. Is this a phase? We hope so! Josh was dressed up like a bat this year and loved to run around with his hands down to his sides. Apparently in an attempt to become more aerodynamic to achieve flight. He did come pretty close a few times.

For family night we carved pumpkins and the kids enjoyed grabbing out handfuls of pumpkin guts. After Josh's pumpkin was cleaned out he decided to put the guts back in so that he could take them out again. We finished of the night with our "Lighting Ceremony" and came in after for a huge Dunford Chocolate Doughnut.

We're just waiting patiently for our new little guy to join us here. Missy is just about ready to pop...literally. We have been getting the house ready for the little dude's arrival. We went out and bought a crib that would fit a little better in Madison's room and we put together the 30 year old cradle to have in our room for the first few weeks. We just need him here NOW! We don't want to wait any longer.

WEEKLY UPDATE 10/28/2007

We had another great week:

• Missy is still HEAVILY pregnant and with just 2 weeks to go is doing great! She is definitely ready to have the baby now...if he would decide to come. We're excited to welcome this cute little guy into our home.
• Madison has completed her 1st week of being of track and has been having fun with friends. She has been getting better at reading stuff around town. She saw a sign for "Mc Grath's Fish House" and commented that "...that building says Fish House!"
• Lanie has been having another great week at school. Her teacher was so impressed that Lanie knew the words for colors on a work sheet without the colors being there. She also took notice of our GEICO car insurance paperwork and noted "That's your car insurance, huh mom!" We've never discussed our car insurance with her...and do you blame us? She's only four.
• Josh has been up to his usual craziness. Acting like a lion or a bear or a shark or like any vicious animal for that matter. This behavior is very cute until you get to sacrament meeting. The people at church must think we're raising a wild man. He has also been having a hard time going to bed when it's time. We usaully hear him playing in his room until he eventually crashes right against his bedroom door. On one such night missy found him asleep with his hand underneath the closed door.

Weekly Update 10/21/2007

The fence is finished!!

• The fence is finally finished! Now we can leave the kids outside all day and not worry about their safety. You would think that by fencing in the yard it would feel smaller...well...it actually feels a little bigger. The kids have loved to go outside.
• Madison went off track on Wednesday. She had her Halloween Party at school on that same day. They made funny hats and ate lots of treats. Grampa Came over for dinner today and was able to pull out one of Madison's front teeth.
• Lanie had another great week at school. Her teacher says that she is getting better and better with each day. She learned all about the letter "F" this week.
• Josh actually slowed down enough this week to enjoy some matching games with Mom. He knows his colors really well. He also said something pretty funny. The neighbor boy, Kyler, was over and he and Josh were watching TV. A commercial advertising a girl toy came on and Kyler said "Ooooh, I want that!" and Josh turned to him and said, "No...that's for girls!" He is our little man.

WEEKLY UPDATE 10/14/07

This was a good week. Here's a run-down on what happened:

• Chase & Robyn came in to town with baby Annilee. We all got to hold her for the first time. She is so sweet and we are very excited to have our little guy in about a month.
• Madsion had her first parent teacher conference on Wednesday. She got TOP marks in all her subjects. She is a great reader and she loves to write. Her teacher, Mrs. Jensen, says she is one of her best students and that she is lots of fun to have in class.
• Lanie had another good week at school. She learned all about the letter"E". She really has enjoyed playing with the new Flip Video camcorder. She has taken some excellent movies herself.
• Josh has been causeing lots of problems!! Madsion built her own castle with legos and Josh came by and said "I'M A DRAGON!" and crashed down Madison's creation. Snips & snails and puppy dog tails, that's what little boys are made of!
• The "Fall Fairy" came to Nanny & Papa's house. We went down on Friday night and set up the tent in the basement. In the morning we got up and there were wild turkeys all over Papa's driveway. Papa made blueberry pancakes and some delicious bacon. We had planned to go on a 4 wheeler ride but it was too rainy. So the Fall Fairy came and left treats all over Nanny & Papa's house. Michelle and Lance brought their kids too and it was fun for the kids to play with them.

ANOTHER GREAT WEEK!

Today Josh learned that the Lemon Juice in the fridge is NOT lemonade.

Sometimes we have to learn things the hard way.

Weekly Update 10/7/07

We had a great week this week.

• I had a missionary reunion on Friday. The attendance wasn't that great but I did get to see two of my companions. Wiscombe & Callister.
• Missy is almost 8 months pregnant. She is in that uncomfortable stage of the pregnancy and this little boy likes to move A LOT! He not only moves but likes to push out with his hands and feet HARD. He also likes to push on the bladder which is the reason behind all the frequent bathroom breaks.
• Madison is an awesome student. She got 140% on her spelling test this week. She got all of her required words correct and her extra credit ones too. These included difficult words like October, oxygen and cotton. She also earned the Super Achievement Award which includes a coupon for a free meal at Del Taco...Pretty exciting!
• Lanie is able to recite the entire Pledge of Allegiance, word for word, without any help. She also learned about the letter D and has been going around and telling us words that start with D. Like Destinations and Denali! Lanie also really enjoyed conference. She especially loved the singing by the choir.
• Josh loves to play down in the basement in the new playroom we set up down there. He also has taken an interest in Missy's pregnant belly. He lifted up Missy's shirt and put his ear against her bellybutton. He then proceeded to lift up his shirt so that he could rub bare bellies with his mom.
